The team of Big Black Box Company Limited, led by Mr. Artimaj Bussayasripatt, President & Co-founder, embarked on a journey to participate in the press conference for TCE2024 Thailand Best Coffee Beans, the premier Thai coffee competition hosted at Silooet_House.
On Thursday, May 16, 2024, the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, in collaboration with Big Black Box Company Limited, a prominent importer, producer and distributor of premium green coffee beans in Thailand nationwide, conducted a press conference to officially introduce the TCE2024 “Thailand Best Coffee Beans” competition. This event showcases a competition aimed at identifying the best Thai coffee of 2024, calling upon coffee farmers from across Thailand to engage in innovating and enhancing Thai coffee beans to achieve international acclaim. This initiative aligns with the royal directives of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, with royal recognition including a trophy presentation from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, marking the fourth consecutive year of royal awards, with this year holding special significance.
The competition comprises two distinct categories:
1. Category: Thailand Best Coffee Beans Contest
2. Good Agricultural Practices Competition, focusing on sustainable coffee plantations following the principles of regenerative agriculture (GAP & Regenerative).
Renowned coffee quality certification expert “Thomas Ameloot” from the Q Project team has been enlisted as the Head Judge for the competition, bringing vast experience in adjudicating international coffee competitions. Mr. Thomas’s proficiency in establishing and enhancing industry-certified standards, coupled with training credentials from the Coffee Quality Institute and the Specialty Coffee Association, ensures the integrity of the judging process.
The recipient of the “Thailand Best Coffee Beans” title will be honored with a royal trophy bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The award holds a winner prize of 100,000 baht, contributing to a total prize pool exceeding 900,000 baht for the entire program.
Mr. Rapeephat Chandrasriwong, Director-General of the Department of Agriculture, and Colonel Nont Chulanont, Advisor to the Organizing Committee of the TCE2024 Thailand Best Coffee Beans Competition, were esteemed guests who visited the BIG BLACK BOX booth during the press conference, further underscoring the significance of the TCE2024 “Thailand Best Coffee Beans” competition.
